I want a VSC.

A VSC is a Vessel Safety Check.  It is performed by a trained, qualified, Vessel Examiner who has been certified by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.  One of our experienced VEs come to your boat and provides a written appraisal of your boat.

It  is a voluntary check of vessel compliance with all federal and state laws, which includes a courtesy check of safety equipment carried or installed on a boat as well as certain aspects of a boat's general condition.  Except for certain state-specific requirements, a VSC is uniform in its standards throughout the country.     This is not a law enforcement action nor would a citation be issued but it may very well save you from inadvertently breaking the rules.

To visit the National VSC site and/or get information on the "I Want a VSC" program, click here

You may also contact our FSO/VE to schedule a check.
